Release notes
Retroshare establish encrypted connections between you and your friends to create a network of computers, and provides various distributed services on top of it: forums, channels, chat, mail... Retroshare is fully decentralized, and designed to provide maximum security and anonymity to its users beyond direct friends. Retroshare is entirely free and open-source software. It is available on Android, Linux, MacOS and Windows. There are no hidden costs, no ads and no terms of service.
Mounts NTFS drives automatically upon plugging them in.

The software is compatible with a wide range of macOS versions, from macOS High Sierra (10.13) up to the latest macOS 26 Tahoe, and supports both Intel-based Macs and Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3, M4, and M5 chips). It provides a seamless menu bar application that automatically mounts NTFS drives in read-write mode as soon as they are connected. iboysoft ntfs for mac activation code
Unplug and reconnect your drive. It will appear under the hidden /Volumes directory.
: "It worked in the past, but since macOS 15, it has stopped functioning properly. When I try to mount an NTFS drive, the file locks disappear at first, but as soon as I open a folder or try to access the drive, everything freezes"
Before diving into the specifics, it's worth understanding why this keyword is so popular. macOS has a built-in limitation: while it can NTFS drives, it cannot write to them by default. In fact, regardless of which macOS version you run—from macOS High Sierra all the way to the latest macOS 26 Tahoe—your Mac only offers read-only support for NTFS drives. This is because NTFS is a proprietary file system owned by Microsoft, and Apple does not have the licensing to provide full read-write support. Mounts NTFS drives automatically upon plugging them in
: "Too complicated for what it should do. Installing the helper is a hassle, and the app requires disabling parts of macOS security and enabling extra system extensions before it can work"
Plug the drive into your Mac, open Disk Utility , select the drive, click Erase , and choose exFAT as the format. 2. Use Apple’s Native (Experimental) NTFS Support
A robust, open-source setup for advanced users. It requires using the Terminal and disabling certain Mac security layers (SIP) on newer Apple Silicon chips. Conclusion This link or copies made by others cannot be deleted
Works on almost any system, but limits individual file sizes to 4GB. Alternative 2: Open-Source Drivers (Mounty or macFUSE)
How , and do you have a place to backup the data?
Unauthorized modifications to file system drivers can corrupt external hard drives, leading to permanent data loss.

Retroshare allows you to create a network of computers (called nodes). Every user has it's own node. The exact location (the IP-address) of nodes is only known to neighbor nodes. You invite a person to become a neighbor by exchanging your Retroshare certificates with that person.
Links between nodes are authenticated using strong asymmetric keys (PGP format) and encrypted using Perfect Forward Secrecy (OpenSSL implementation of TLS).
On top of the network mesh, Retroshare provides services to securely and anonymously exchange data with other nodes in the network beyond your own friends.
There is no catch. Retroshare is provided free of charge and does not generate any kind of money. It is the result of hard work that is only driven by the goals of providing a tool to evade censorship.
The only catch is that you will need to build your own network: in order to use Retroshare, you have to recruit friends and exchange certificates with them, or join an existing network of friends.
Retroshare was founded by drbob in 2006, as a platform to provide "secure communications and file sharing with friends". Since then other developers joined and steadily improved the software. Retroshare v0.6 is a new milestone which is based on experience from previous releases. A remarkable new component in Retroshare v0.6 is the generic data transportation system (internally named GXS) which abstracts the distribution of authenticated data throughout the network. On top of GXS, Retroshare provides distributed forums, movie channels with comments, and asynchronous messaging.
